CMDC Marketing in the Age of Wonder

CMDC Marketing in the Age of Wonder

Every year the The Canadian Media Directors’ Council hosts the country’s largest media conference, drawing an international roster of speakers and attendees from some of media’s most influential and successful organizations including Google, the Atlantic, Fast Company, Bitcoin and the Barbarian Group. For the 2015 edition our team was tapped to bring the theme of Marketing in the Age of Wonder to life, visually and experientially.

Starting with a unique design and communications platform aimed at generating awareness and boosting registration, we brought the conference identity to life – inspired by the prism as an object of wonder and as a metaphor for today’s broad media spectrum.

This spectrum also reflected the array of touchpoints developed to connect with the conference. These included an art installation in the lobby of the TIFF Bell Lightbox, social media content, online advertising, website redesign and a mobile site which acted as a digital guide for attendees on the day of the conference; while diving deeper into speakers and topics.

With over 500 attendees and a massive spike in web traffic and social conversation, 2015 set a new benchmark that CMDC is already excited to surpass in 2016.
